Threshold-programmable loss-of-signal detection circuit with temperature compensation

چکیده

It is a challenge to implement loss-of-signal (LOS) circuit with wide threshold voltage range that insensitive temperature. This paper presents new wide-range threshold-programmable LOS detector full temperature compensation for application in 25Gb/s high-speed optical communication receivers. The programmable of the achieved by adjusting peak and gain variable amplifier (VGA). detection accuracy obviously improved using offset self-cancellation technology comparator (COMP) VGA detector. has been fabricated 0.18 um BICMOS process occupies 0.03mm2. 11∼130mV non-return-to-zero code, hysteresis 2dB, max error 4mV. consumes 2.18mW from 1.8V supply voltage.
